Cardio and Cowboys

T-Shirt Prim, Skirt made by me, Boots hand-me downs from my Grandpa (seriously), Sunglasses and Necklace Therapy, Bracelets Delia's and Kate Spade

Well, I'd be lying if I said this tee-shirt was just a clever saying. Fat Amy said it best: Don't put me down for cah-di-oh. Although sometimes the most interesting pieces aren't shopped for, but found in unlikely places. My Wella (my Dad's mother) brought over these boots and explained that they were my Wello's (Dad's father) "crap-kickers"...but Wella used a more colorful word. I like to think of them as "authentic-cowboy" boots. Whatever you call them, they will work great with a skirt or jeans as they are a classic dark leather and have special details like the extra pointy toe and cross stitch up the side. Thanks Wello!

Pineapples

Dress and Necklace Therapy, Shoes Sway

I recently went to tea with my friend Jessica, and the tea room was having a special...Tropical Week! It only seemed appropriate to wear my tropical, pineapple dress. Remember that not everything you buy is perfect right off the hanger. To reign in this already quite revealing dress, I sewed a piece of lace under the exposed triangle between the girls. In school I liked geometry, but not enough to have both an isosceles and an equilateral of skin showing. Enjoy the last bits of summer!

Fashion Firday: Get Me Some Jeans And A T-Shirt!

Top Delia's, Jeans Target, Boots Target, Jewelry made by me and vintage
Lately I've been reaching for neutrals with little pops of color, like these black jeans and gray knit tee. Maybe it's the fresh out of high school mentality, grasping onto the flavor of college life. Little sophistication, little punk. Maybe I'm just lazy, but I'm discovering that simple clothes with intriguing details is the ticket to low-effort cool. Simple...like this post...like I said, maybe a little lazy ;)

A Summer-Grab-Coffee-Or-Whatever Look

Shorts: American Eagle, Boots: Nordstrom, Accessories: Therapy

Today as I headed to coffee with mom and little brothers, I wanted something easy, as it was warm out and I didn't want anything fussy. Boom! Shorts and a tank top. I've found that the cut and distressed style of the shorts really elevated the look from your run of the mill denim shorts. The high waist wasn't just great for keeping all your extra lovin' from spilling out, but it gave a nice mom-jean gone hot (Stacy's mom anyone?) vibe. I got my top on vacation in Puerto Rico last week and instantly loved the artistic look. Paired with my favorite boots and slouchy sweater, I was set! Disclaimer: I have worn this outfit at least twice in the last week and possibly even two days in a row. But who's counting? It also works for casual dinners and plane rides. :)
