The cupcakes are loaded...batter up! |
This year, my little brothers turned six and eleven. So to celebrate we took inspiration from something they both love: baseball! Something you should know about my mother and I, we party hard. Not in the way you may be thinking, but when the opportunity arises we go all out. Decorations, homemade cake, party favors, invitations, yes people the paper kind. Not that the boys really cared about all our hard work, I bet they would have been happy if all there was were cupcakes and presents, but I think they had a very happy birthday.
Giants Cake Stenciling: 1) I looked at my brother's Giants cap and sketched out the logo on scratch paper.
2) Cut it out.
3) After frosting the cake in white, I laid the templet on it very lightly. Be sure not to press down!
4) I took a toothpick and traced the shape onto the frosting. You don't really need to dig to deep, just enough to get a visible line.
5) Take off you stencil, and pipe the drawing with your frosting.
6) For the red stitching, simply trace your lines with a toothpick and go back and pipe on the red in little "V" shapes. Remember, the stitches on a baseball go in opposite directions on either side.
